Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen

Directed by Neil Marshall and starring David Harbour (sheriff from Stranger Things)

Written by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Mignola.

Always down for more Hellboy and I like Marshall and Harbour but I would've liked to see Del Toro and Perlman give it one more go.

721749, No Perlman/Del Toro feels like a betrayal.

721750, Del Toro needed too big of a budget according to the piece

Swipe

But both movies engendered strong cult followings and there were rumblings of a third installment. Last year del Toro, Dark Horse Entertainment, Levin and Gordon, the latter who controls the rights, explored their options. However, the budget was a stumbling block, with del Toro wanting a bigger canvas for his vision. In the end, the producers decided a reboot and relaunch was the more feasible route.

I mean... I was stunned and don't care that it looks Ron Perlman-ish.

Agreed. Generic as fuck. Nothing in it really impressed me.
732970, Harbour Looks great. Everything else looks TRASH

I'm not huge on Del Toro's Hellboy film's based on a recent rewatch of both so I was open. But this just looks like some shit you'd see on CBS All Access.

732975, yikes

733079, Is this a parody of the OG films?

Doesn't look outright horrible, but definitely doesn't look anywhere near as good as the last two films.

If it surprises me and gets great reviews I'll go see it. If it gets AWFUL reviews I might get blazed and catch a matinee. This looks like real average though and I just don't have the time for that.
734325, Hearing that this is wild garbage.

Hear David Harbour is good and everything else is basura.
734385, There's good stuff IN it.

just butchered script/editing-wise

like BUTCHERED.

also PG-13 might have actually helped this movie. They certainly didn't justify R.

the only interesting thing to see was the blend of practical and CG they used for Gruagach
