715818, So more proof you don't know what me and Imcvspl are talking about Posted by astralblak, Wed Sep-21-16 03:16 PM
>"Plucky protagonist takes on evil corporation" has been done >ad nauseum in film and video games: >
That's not the premise. Imcvspl is saying that everything is controlled by corpoterrorist and a totalitarian state ala 1984 and The Handmaid's Tale. In both those books and some others, it's done well, was fresh, and the end of Handmaid's is actually hella unique. But if corpototalitarianism is what THIS show becomes I'm going to find it boring/cop out ish
What you are talking about has been done to death as well. But what was fresh for me where these things: one, the major flaw in the savior character having mental illness. Two that the rebellion was actually successful. And three that they were inhabiting a "post-apocalypse" landscape that hadn't gone to shit.
>Resident Evil No >Robocop No. You should probably go rematch that. Ain't not plucky shit about that protagonist >Blade Runner Uhh you should go rematch that. That's basically a sci-fish detective narrative. >Terminator Ok >Lego Movie Haven't watched >Avatar Fuck that movie >etc. > >That's the premise I was referring to. It's fine if you're >getting disillusioned with the storytelling, but the premise >is nothing new whatsoever.
