Posted by handle, Tue Dec-15-15 04:17 PM
Post-up where/when you are seeing it. Possible meetups?

Me:
I'll be at The Arclight in Hollywood for the 11:00am showing on Friday December 18th. If anyone else is going feel free to inbox me.

After: Amoeba Records.
705715, Plymouth Meeting AMC. Dressing up with my girl.

Thursday at 9:30 p.m.

I oriiginally wanted to catch it for the first time at a really nice movie house, like the Grand Lake in Oakland, but it sold out quick. So I'm going to settle for a regular old multiplex the first time. I'll catch it at the Grand Lake during the week.
705722, Newly Opened Alamo Drafthouse. It's kitted out like an imperial ship

Look it up if you haven't seen it on the national news. It's crazy in there, and they got staff walking around in Star Wars cosplay.

Won't be seeing it the day it comes out, though. Likely Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.

705723, Im thinking of hitting the Arclight in La Jolla next week
Posted by RobOne4, Tue Dec-15-15 09:41 PM
since the boy is out of school we can go during the week and catch a matinee.
705730, I've only gone to Arclight in La Jolla once (Gravity)
Posted by handle, Wed Dec-16-15 12:59 AM
I wasn't impressed.

It seems like a "normal" theatre to me. The front rows are way too close to the screen , unlike Hollywood where most of the theaters have a front row that's *perfect* for viewing. You don't see anyone in the crowd, just the entire screen - maybe a little close and missing some of the sides but it fill your entire field of view up.

And the sound system didn't seem great.

And parking at UTC around Xmas is a nightmare :)

Did I just have a bad experience ? Have you been to the non-dome theaters in the Hollywood Arclight?

705769, Does Cineopolis have food service?
Posted by handle, Thu Dec-17-15 02:01 AM
Last thing I want to smell is people's chicken wings, and then have check drop moment 10 minutes before the film end.

I might just be an old ass crank.
705773, They do, but the service is solid & there are so few seats...
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Thu Dec-17-15 05:07 AM
That it's not really much of an issue imo.
705770, Cineopolis is amazing
Posted by RobOne4, Thu Dec-17-15 03:20 AM
I have been to the one in Pasadena twice. The service is phenomenal to go with the experience. The closest one to me right now is in Vista(1 hr away) so I havent gone in a while. But me and the wife have been talking about making a trip soon.
