695840, Silicon Valley Season Two
Posted by Nodima, Sun Apr-12-15 10:54 PM
I like the new lady, but I can't tell if I like her because she's doing "Peter Gregory" turned up to 15 or she's legit funny in her own way yet.

solid episode overall.

dude who plays the main character does the nervous introverted nerd so well.
695876, I liked Gavin's speech
Posted by spenzalii, Mon Apr-13-15 09:19 AM
It was a nice send off to Gregory (and Chris Welch) but before anybody goes all sentimental they go for the lawsuit.

Looking forward to this season

696068, That was so awesome

I don't have HBO, but this is one of the best shows I've seen recently.

That line was crazy. Actually, that whole thing was hilarious.
695920, Zach Woods is so great, even when he only gets a few lines
Posted by Marauder21, Mon Apr-13-15 02:08 PM
Him reluctantly almost stepping up to home plate and explaining "negging" to Richard was fantastic.

Never even thought about the whole "take the smallest bid" strategy, but it's actually really smart (at least for this show, are startups doing this in real life?)
696061, The snapchat stuff at the funeral was great.

This last episode was fucking brilliant. The SWOT board for letting Blake (or Blaine. Whatever his name was lol) die was incredible.
698011, That was too funny

I almost wished Blaine didn't turn around to see the board

Last episodes have been something else. I'd feel remiss if this post didn't mention adventures in ferret ownership. And the gift of the kimono.

I thought the Let Blaine Die SWOT was greatness.

The visual at the porn conference topped it. All those laid back folks, but the name tags....My Dirty Vagina, Blackmailed Into Gay, and Brutalized Assholes. Fantastic.

Same as it ever was!
698298, The porn site names were greatness.

That's "name" humor on par with any great Simpsons episode.
698340, just now caught it, and this was my reaction as well...
Posted by sfMatt, Tue May-26-15 07:58 PM
The receptionist calling in to tell them that Erlich Bachman was on his way in had me dying

the whole Gavin/Hooli success = failure sequence was hysterical too

I loved Rachel chiming in on the porn innovations through the cracked door

They found a way to make Russ entertaining and fresh with his mini-meltdown. Loved him zipping around just to shout at Richard a little more.

698892, Finally caught up. This show is amazing.
Posted by ZooTown74, Thu Jun-04-15 12:34 PM
I thought nothing would top the joke of Noah (the neighborhood dude in the wheelchair) going all the way around the driveway to tell them that he was going to file a complaint with the city

Until I saw the last episode, which was packed with great jokes

Posted by j0510, Thu Jun-04-15 09:18 PM
This season is by far better than the first and the first was really good. Veep is a top notch show, but I am enjoying Silicon Valley more this year.
699106, so good last night. i only have one fear for this show.
Posted by PROMO, Mon Jun-08-15 05:00 PM
i love it so much, but i don't know how much longer they can keep the struggle alive...so I don't know how much longer we have with this show and that makes me sad.

like, they either have to fail or succeed soon - then what?
699109, ^^^^
Posted by RobOne4, Mon Jun-08-15 06:00 PM
the wife and I were discussing this last night. Hopefully Judge has some ideas.
699125, the struggle has gotten tiresome to me
Posted by mashpg89, Tue Jun-09-15 01:01 AM
Every episode is pretty formulaic now. They seemingly solve a problem from the previous episodes, then do something stupid to mess up their solution or create a new problem, which they'll solve next episode. Rinse & repeat.

I'd rather they make some real progress and get their platform up and running by the end of the season. Seems like the story has gone on long enough with them in this stage of their development, and success will bring new challenges as well.
699153, I agree.
Posted by CaptNish, Tue Jun-09-15 03:32 PM
The show is amazing week in and week out, but the constant Ls are playing themselves out.
699201, i feel you on this...something's gotta give
Posted by gumz, Thu Jun-11-15 09:19 AM
699131, I think it's obvious they will succeed, which opens up a whole new lane
Posted by kwez, Tue Jun-09-15 08:40 AM
There's a lot of comedy to be found even in that
I'm sure

************************
699134, I love Big Head's goofy ass. I wish he'd get more screen time.
Posted by placee_22, Tue Jun-09-15 09:44 AM
699150, I can't believe how good this show is from week to week
Posted by Grand_Royal, Tue Jun-09-15 01:35 PM
They keep finding ways to raise the stakes and it's consistently hilarious.

I like the lawyer, I hope they can keep him around.
699183, Lawyer and Jared killed it with anal line
Posted by sosa, Wed Jun-10-15 01:57 PM
Lol
699209, All the lawyers were good.

699330, yeah, I wasn't feeling that. ESPECIALLY after Game of Thrones.
Posted by PROMO, Mon Jun-15-15 12:35 AM
699362, That was a gut punch
Posted by Marauder21, Mon Jun-15-15 10:30 AM
I can't imagine they really want him completely out of Pied Piper, since it's all his code. But fuck that had to sting for Richard.
699510, sounds like he's out just as CEO...
Posted by gumz, Wed Jun-17-15 09:25 AM
probably still in as lead programmer/product developer...etc.
699388, Defeat snatched out of the jaws of victory again
Posted by spenzalii, Mon Jun-15-15 12:27 PM
Man I do love this show but I cannot take the epic up and down every episode
699422, It made sense though...
Posted by gmltheone, Mon Jun-15-15 03:25 PM
He's not a good boss. You root for him, but he fumbled everything this year and got a gift because belson was petty with jared's contract.

----------------------------
Same as it ever was!
699464, RE: It made sense though...
Posted by RobOne4, Mon Jun-15-15 11:22 PM
but arent the fumbles really due to the lack of funding? Would he have made all those stupid mistakes if he had the funding that was promised to him?
699484, No, they're not all due to the lack of funding.
Posted by ZooTown74, Tue Jun-16-15 02:44 PM
Some of them are due to him being nebbish and nervous and essentially being who he is.

________________________________________________________________________________
It takes two.
699476, Agreed, he basically gave away his code to that other company
Posted by Grand_Royal, Tue Jun-16-15 11:04 AM
...and he was about to help them improve it recently lol

He almost got them hacked TWICE by running his mouth.

They wouldn't have been able to get the porn deal if it weren't for Gilfoyle.

He almost lost his company because of his mistake.

I love his integrity, but he is not very good at business and that's a big reason why they are constantly losing.
699427, yeah, i agree
Posted by Mynoriti, Mon Jun-15-15 03:38 PM
every time something good happens, you automatically brace yourself for the inevitable L.

i really like this show but they need to switch it up at some point
699487, Didnt this always happen on Entourage too??
Posted by Ceej, Tue Jun-16-15 03:12 PM
o
699489, Opposite. Everything always worked out in Entourage.

699486, The chick who plays Laurie is secretly kinda cute
Posted by John Forte, Tue Jun-16-15 03:05 PM
699786, Russ Hanneman was Brian the sound guy in The Office!
Posted by RobOne4, Thu Jun-25-15 04:29 AM
dont know how I didnt make this connection sooner. Probably because by that point The Office was fucking terrible and I try and forget it. Looks like I have actually forgotten it! But yeah had an old episode playing in the background and Russ/Brian jumps in to console Pam. According to his IMDB page he also voiced Mickey Mouse in the new shorts Disney put out the last couple of years. That is even more impressive to me.
699799, Yup. Dude's been on like every great comedy show guesting
Posted by CaptNish, Thu Jun-25-15 10:36 AM
He's amazing.
699806, He was also in that NetFlix season of Arrested Development
Posted by mrhood75, Thu Jun-25-15 01:12 PM
He was one of the worst parts of that season; dude usually gets cast in shitty roles. "Silicon Valley" is the first thing I really liked him in. Probably because they figured out just the right amount to use him.
