700955, Chris Columbus stinks as a director Posted by handle, Sun Jul-26-15 09:40 PM
That first Harry Potter was the worst/best example of this.
Adventures in Babysitting <= Bad Heartbreak Hotel <= Bad Home Alone <=GOOD! Only the Lonely <= Bad Home Alone 2: Lost in New York <= Bad Mrs. Doubtfire <= Good, in spite of direction Nine Months <= Bad Stepmom <= Didn't See It Bicentennial Man <= Bad Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone <= Bad Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban <= Bad
I think if you HAD to pick a Sandler associated director that Dennis Dugan might have been the bets of those choices - at least when he makes a bad movie its BAD. (And I still like him from the 1970s as Richie Brockelman on Rockford Files.)
Maybe Edgar Wright can do the sequel?
