"Starring alongside Bruce Campbell in Ash Vs. Evil Dead will be Jill Marie Jones of Sleepy Hollow…

Jill Marie Jones has joined Ash Vs. Evil Dead, the TV show which will carry on Ash’s adventures post-Army Of Darkness.

The plot of the show, we're told, centres on Ash as an ‘aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the past three decades avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead.’

Naturally, that all changes ‘when a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons — personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its evil grip.’

Jones fits into proceedings as a disgraced state trooper from Michigan, who for some reason blames Ash for the ‘grisly murder’ of her partner. Soon enough, they team up to stop the invasion, we would assume.

Our best bet is that readers of this site would recognise Jones as Cynthia Irving from Sleepy Hollow, but she did also pop up in an episode of American Horror Story entitled Spilt Milk. She’s best known for 137 episodes of American sitcom Girlfriends, though. She joins a cast that already includes Ray Santiago of Meet The Fockers, Dana DeLorenzo of A Very Harold And Kumar 3D Christmas and, of course, Bruce Campbell.

We’re expecting ten half-hour episodes of this one, believed to premiere in the latter stages of this year. Starz has the rights in the USA, but it’s unclear if the show will find a home in the UK.

We do know, though, that Sam Raimi will direct the pilot episode, and that Ivan Raimi co-wrote the script with him....."
