692754, Movies you expected to be terrible and ended up enjoying Posted by go mack, Thu Feb-12-15 07:58 PM
Inspired by Death to Smoochie last weekend saw for first time. Its not a great movie but I laughed a lot. Robin Williams and Ed Norton with Jon Stewart and Danny Devito, Im not sure why it took me this long to check out other than negative reviews..
Speed Racer probably one of the top movies in this category, expected shit and pleasantly surprised.

I remember how awful I thought the trailer was and how badly I needed convincing before I gave it a shot. Awesome flick. Still haven't seen KA2.

I like it for what it is - and the portal of Joe Dirte as an optimist.

The ads made it look like a piece of shit (IT's a burger for a cop!) but it was very funny.

The guy who made Wide Awake doing some corny-looking thing about a whispering creepy little kid and a stoic Bruce Willis? Pass.

A little long for a comedy, but I was laughing the whole time. Speed Racer was the first thing that came to mind for me too.

Everyone still shits on, but I don't care. I like it.

I remember the first 10 minutes blowing me away. Edward Norton's rant on nutrition was dope.

693546, It is legitimately one of my favorite comedies. Posted by Nodima, Thu Feb-26-15 05:09 PM
I just don't think anyone wanted to se such a dark movie from the people involved, but man was it perfect for me as a kid. Totally defied expectations, I'm still amazed it got such a bad rap.

I saw the trailer and was like, this looks like typical romantic comedy crap. The lead was some side character from Knocked Up. Mila Kunis is cute but meh. Well I was very wrong. It is one of my favorite movies of all time. Watch it every time it comes on. Its the biggest movie L I have ever taken.

693533, Takers Posted by LES, Thu Feb-26-15 02:37 PM
this movie is damn near perfect, not sure why I love it so much but I cant find fault with this movie
The Kings Speech - thought it was generic Oscar bait had no clue what I was getting into
Atonement - overly sappy period piece had two strikes against it but a friend campaigned hard for me to watch and sure enough really enjoyed it
