Interesting choice of a property to bring back.
692707, They've been trying to bring it back for years

I actually forgot they got it together. I thought the project was dead until I heard about this trailer.
692682, Love the feel of the trailer.

Not sure if I'll go out to see it but the 60's feel was pretty great. Cavill's take was pretty funny although it seems like a role suited perfectly for Gabriel Macht.

More interested now than I was before the trailer but still might be a rental.

I loved watching this show as a kid. I like that they decided to make it a period piece set in the 1960s. But...I'm not too sure about the rest. The trailer doesn't look compelling to me. Unless it gets great reviews and some buzz, I might wait for Netflix.
692716, this joint looks like fun!

I am becoming a big Henry C fan.
701464, Very, very fun & funny

My brother and I really enjoyed this shit.

Everyone here is clearly having a good time. Hammer & Cavill make a great pair. I've never been impressed with Cavill until now. He plays dashing well & looked like Superman more in this than he did in Man of Steel.

Viklander is sexy (as always) & Elizabeth D. did good job of juggling sexy, threatening, intimidating & deadly well.

Seriously hope this gets a sequel. Guy Ritchie back y'all.

If Spectre & Bridge of Spies is good then we'd have 6 excellent spy films this year.

701465, What are the other 3?

701466, MI-V, Ant Man?...and something else

701467, Ant-Man is not a spy film LOL. Here's the list:

2015 spy films:

Kingsman

Spy

Rouge Nation

And this.

All excellent
701818, Fun, disposable summer fare. I'd watch a sequel.

Obviously nothing special, but it's pretty people with pretty costumes, a witty script, and slinky period music. This is more or less why people go to the movies during the summer, for escapist fare like this.
701908, or maybe not, since most people didn't go see it

701923, Well, it *is* from a style/execution perspective.

Stylistically, it fits the bill. Conceptually, without a proven star or a name that kids recognize... yeah, I don't know why it was greenlit with the budget that it had. It's hard to get asses into seats without a star/name-brand property.

(Well, I think I know why-- because it was being developed with CROOZE, then he dropped, so they figured, fuck it, see this thing through... but yeah, not good for them.)
701924, why not put a different name on it entirely?
Posted by Rjcc, Mon Aug-17-15 08:33 PM
I watch tons of old shit, and I don't evne know what The Man from UNCLE is supposed to mean.

I didn't know that it was some us/russian team up bromance spy movie until this week

701925, I agree, although even a different name wouldn't have mattered.
Posted by Frank Longo, Mon Aug-17-15 09:13 PM
A Cavill/Hammer tagteam was destined for Tanksville.
701946, it's like they didn't see the John Carter debacle at all

it's the same formula all over again

701996, I hope it gets a sequel for Viks sake

I'm not sure why those armed guards weren't waiting for Cav & Ham at the surface after that truck rescue

seems like you guys in here enjoyed this, but i went with a couple of friends and we all thought it was pretty mediocre. i didn't feel engaged at all really.
