It was pretty on point and thought-provoking. The reviewer felt as if Bill's "suicide" undermined the show's underlying message of tolerance and acceptance of an alternative lifestyle. He said the show made no bones about using the vampires of true blood as an allegory for the acceptance of homosexuality in mainstream society and that Bill's "suicide" was a slap in the face to the rest of the vampires and by extension of the metaphor to homosexuals. I hadn't considered that angle but the writer made a pretty compelling argument.

Although he didn't bring it up. The timing with Robin William's death was pretty eerie. Granted this was filmed well in advance of William's death.
