Honestly, the trailer can't do this film justice. No trailer can.

Plot-wise, it doesn't really differ from a Degrassi episode set in a home for at-risk teens. However, the characters are so lovingly handled, the emotions so rich, the dialogue so on point, and the performances so top-drawer that you're not likely to hold anything against this film. I was totally won over, and these characters have stuck with me.

Not enough can be said about Brie Larson, who between this and The Spectacular Now has a great year lined up.

It's dismissive to call this movie "simple" or "small," as it doesn't feel that way at all.
