Just sticking with Ireland, there's Bloody Sunday, Once, My Left Foot, The Quiet Man, The Commitments, and Intermission. Irish immigrants, I'd go with In America.

And then if we're just talking about Irish characters, there's probably hundreds of films that should be listed.
500892, I saw some of the films you named on http://www.irishfilm.net/
Posted by T Reynolds, Tue Feb-02-10 02:08 PM
As I was browsing. didn't recognize any of them

You know all those films off top?

500894, Yeah. And I didn't even think of 25th Hour, Gone Baby Gone...
Posted by SoulHonky, Tue Feb-02-10 02:11 PM
In Bruges and State of Grace.
501109, If you want to check out some of these flicks, I recommend
Posted by SoulHonky, Wed Feb-03-10 12:33 AM
Gone Baby Gone
25th Hour
Miller's Crossing
and then the "In"s
In Bruges
Intermission
In the Name of the Father
In America

Maybe check out State of Grace. It's not a great film but it's on par (and maybe even better) than most of the movies above.
501179, Cool, I've seen a lot of these
Posted by T Reynolds, Wed Feb-03-10 08:38 AM
>Gone Baby Gone
>25th Hour
>Miller's Crossing
>In Bruges

Truth be told I was using ones I remembered off top as being distinctly Irish American or Irish themed

The Crying Game. Actually I don't even think its that good personally. But it's damn highly rated and a pretty strong contender (in most people's eyes).

Forest Whittaker's English accent is beyond ridiculous in it. That ruins it alone.
