When Scottie realizes he has been the dupe of a complex murder plot he attempts to cure himself of his vertigo & expose the truth by revisiting the scene of Madeleine's death. A nun approaches from behind in the dark & is mistake for the ghost of Madeleine scaring Judy who stumbles back out the window & falls to her death.
