but i will say he could be described as a more conversational and darker DOOM with varied flows and very complex patterns. DOOM generally raps in complete sentences that rhyme. earl does something similar but it seems to happen with less effort and shorter phrases. on /some rap songs/ you almost forget that he's rapping because his tone is so casual, his subject matter is so raw, and the patterns are so shifty. then you listen a 2nd and 3rd time and start to catch the patterns and unpack his one liners. it's kind of amazing what earl does when he's in top form

that said i don't think earl is for everyone. he raps very frankly about sensitive subjects that not everyone identifies with
