3009816, Cypress Hill - Elephants on Acid
Posted by bwood, Fri Sep-28-18 08:00 AM
The album drops today. Entirely produced by Muggs.

Gonna listen to it later tonight.

Anyone listen to this yet?
3009827, reminds me of temples of boom

not saying its on the same level but its really cohesive, zone out type of album.

maybe a bit too sleepy, definitely too many "intervals" but overall the production is really good. almost feels like theres no hooks on the songs and its kind of hard to tell when a song finishes if youre not paying attention.

i had too many distractions and noise when i was listening so i need to give it another listen.

over all its good but i can see a lot of people skipping on it.

favorite songs after one listen:
oh na na
reefer man
crazy

i can definitely see it growing on me, maybe after i listen to the songs without the intervals.
3009846, This is mos def meant to be listened to under the influence

It's trippy as fuck and flows perfectly, but it's definitely too long.
3010019, 2 replies? the fuck? this album is fucking great

b-real hasn't sounded this good in years and muggs outdid himself with some of these beats
3010025, I was lurking to see more opinions

Looks like Cypress Hill may have found their way. I heard snippets and am starting to think: that's good that they are returning to form, but I and the college freshman pothead I used to be may be growing apart.
3010026, b-real definitely is sounding good

especially compared to some other recent stuff.

the beats are great

its just such a zone out album. i appreciate them just doing their thing but i definitely see people not checking this.

theres like 4/5 songs that are really growing on me.
3010020, I'll check it out...but when the last time anybody been hyped for them?

3010032, I didn’t realize they still made music
Posted by DJR, Wed Oct-03-18 06:14 PM
I feel like early- mid 2000’s was the last time I heard anything from them.
3010086, muggs is killing it right now tho... haven't listened to this yet
Posted by PG, Thu Oct-04-18 05:50 PM
but it'll happen this weekend.
3010035, Def their best since Temples of Boom
Posted by Nick Has a Problem...Seriously, Wed Oct-03-18 08:02 PM
Just under 52mins. Muggs has been providing the goods lately. Band of Gypsies, Jesus was a Stoner, Locos, Falling Down and Blood on My Hands Again are my favs after the first few spins.
3010043, Really like it also, especially the production n/m
Posted by IslaSoul, Thu Oct-04-18 12:44 AM
3010044, This! B-Real still grates after awhile and Sen is good in doses
Posted by natenate101, Thu Oct-04-18 01:46 AM
But Muggs is the real star on this one. Shows a helluva range. Dope album without overtly corny radio shit or rap/rock mashup nonsense.
3010050, didnt even notice that
Posted by mista k5, Thu Oct-04-18 09:06 AM
>rap/rock mashup nonsense.

i think thats whats really jumping at me about it. its just cohesive and it sticks to what cypress hill is. oh na na is the closest thing to pop but there was no rap/rock and i forgot they ever did that for a second lol
3010096, sorry.. but this shit SUCKS

...after dropping dud after dud since Temples of Boom, i should have known this would be wack ...B Real isnt the problem really, the production is just awful, is this even Muggs????

3010134, yeah, it's really spacey or whatever
Posted by justin_scott, Fri Oct-05-18 08:52 PM
i heard the joint with Muggs and Roc first, and was expecting that....
3010139, the Muggs x Roc joint might be my favorite song in 5 years....
Posted by My_SP1200_Broken_Again, Fri Oct-05-18 11:31 PM
...its amazing ...i love Muggs, but i really need those proper drums ..the sounds he used otherwise are fine ..b real over HARD DRUMS is a no brainer

3010140, Roc and Muggs album in 2 weeks!
Posted by High Society, Fri Oct-05-18 11:37 PM
Speaking of fav joint in 5 years...

I might feel same way but about different Roc song:
In Case You Forgot - Alchemist featuring Roc.

That beat is so goddamn crazy. And they let it breathe for a minute!
So FIRE.
