Re: Discogs
Now, 75% of what I want from Discogs is predominately available from overseas sellers, typically based in Europe. What's that all about? I'm really into 12" inches for remixes and instrumentals. My goal is to get into bedroom DJing and mixing and those releases are crucial for what I want to do.

Anyway, almost everything I buy online is from Discogs or eBay but mainly Discogs. I should start supporting other sites. I like shopping at the Dusty Groove's store in Chicago but I rarely buy from the online shop. And I'm sure there are some low-key, lesser-known sites with a nice selection and fair prices.

To those of you who use a subscription service, through the likes of Stones Throw, Numero Group, Now-Again, etc. how's that working for you? Are you happy with the selection?

I should add that I prefer to buy in person. I like garage sales and sales advertised on EstatesSales.net, though I still support my local shops. Thing with my local shops is that they rely heavily on selling newly released albums and reissues. I rarely find the jazz want as I like to buy the original pressings unless the reissue has special features that most reissues don't have. A good example would be Light in the Attic's Digable Planet vinyl reissues. Those had nice liner notes, and I don't even normally buy hip-hop on wax...

I posted this in another thread today, and it's slightly off topic, but if you're in LA, check out these Now Again Records(Egon and Madlib)/Rappcats pop-up events. This seems like a nice alternative and a way to pick up something out of the ordinary in person. DJ Shadow apparently hosted an annual "storage clean out" sale there. And OGs like Phil Ranelin have made appearances. Apparently, Madlib has shown up before, too.

Also, I just learned last year that Numero Group has a "factory outlet" in Chicago.
