Watching those TV video shows was the thing then. Brought a lot of pop music to Black neighborhoods.

Casey Kasem's America's top 10 and Friday Night Video's - shows like that.
Also the UHF stations like U68. 31 had Video Music Box for the hip-hop R&B side of things.
