What do you guys think. I'm lovin' it but I feel kinda biased.
3006784, I just hope I can
Posted by Numba_33, Fri Jun-22-18 11:13 AM
snag a physical copy of this when Westside Gunn makes the CD/vinyls available.

I'll definitely give this and that new Freddie Gibbs some time and attention this weekend.
3006791, Mm..
Posted by cheesecake, Fri Jun-22-18 03:04 PM
I like it. But it's clear these guys are never going to evolve very much.
3006822, lol

I'm starting to turn on Gunn's voice. And I'm not usually the type. AKA I luv Ghost, Freeway and others who get slagged for their 'voice'.

But still, this was fun to hear. The beats are grand. And the rassler references are crazy.

At this point, there's no way anyone should go in expecting anything other than 'My friends and I will totally kill you. Also, bricks over tricks cuz bricks made us rich more than any bitch. By the way, look at these obscure shoes and how they go with this vintage jacket!' with wrestler name tie-ins that wrestling fans will get on a sneaky deep level.
3006817, True, I'm only hoping

...that this one's special because of the credits and features.
Gunn's rapping is a non-factor to me in comparing his releases, because the raps are always the same.
For the most part, so is the aesthetic.
3006823, I was the exact opposite...
Posted by Dstl1, Sat Jun-23-18 01:26 PM
I started off HATING his voice. Then I listened to Hitler Wears Hermes 4 and was converted, lol. I still say, though, Conway is eons better at rapping than Westside.
3006827, I think the aesthetic is my favorite part!
Posted by stone_phalanges, Sat Jun-23-18 01:47 PM
Except for the beats of course. But even there I think there's more to making a good song than picking a beat, and I really like WSG's songs. I know everybody is tripping over themselves about Conway, but I still prefer WSG's songs because he has such a strong aesthetic. He has more of an identity than Conway so far. His music also has more personality and charisma. Imo.

Violence. Fashion. Wrestling. Buffalo repeat.

I think I prefer that to BARS. BARS. BARS BARS. BARS. Endlessly.
3007649, I'll listen when the topics switch up then

3006816, Still can’t fuck with his voice but his ear for beats 👌🏾
Posted by Nick Has a Problem...Seriously, Sat Jun-23-18 09:35 AM
Alchemist, Pete, Daringer and H Fraud delivered
3006821, it's dope, from start to finish
Posted by Ill Jux, Sat Jun-23-18 01:22 PM
just played it 2 times
3006828, thoughts after first listen...
Posted by Dstl1, Sat Jun-23-18 01:47 PM
this is flames...exactly what I expected
dude's ear for beats is unparalleled
there will never be a time that I do not want to hear Jadakiss rap
DAMN!!! @ these beats
Marciano is the fuckin best
That Busta verse was...hmmm
glrrrrrr...doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo...boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, BOOM!!!
3006843, Sabu a minute long, Ric Martel 2 minutes long...
Posted by daskap, Sun Jun-24-18 10:51 AM
but that awful, annoying ass Gods Don't Bleed beat gets to ride out for 5 minutes, smfh.
3006863, “Sabu” one of the best beats i’ve heard in years.
Posted by liveguy, Sun Jun-24-18 05:43 PM
Way too short!

Conway or Mach Hommy shoulda been on that too.

Sadhu Gold is a MONSTER on them beats!
3006932, SaBu needs a remix. Badly. I thought that was Madlib before looking it up
Posted by Nabs, Tue Jun-26-18 08:44 PM
such a great track.
3007030, def thought it was madlib after first listen
Posted by High Society, Fri Jun-29-18 06:33 PM
3007031, Conway the better rapper, WSG the better artist.
Posted by High Society, Fri Jun-29-18 06:45 PM
Sabu - thought it was madlib.
Spanish Jesus - damn, Harry! That guitar lick sample is hard.
WSG and Conway like those guitar sample beats.
Busta came through and wrecked.

What happens when they run out of wrestlers?

RVD is fire - daringer on his shit with that one and a Keisha Plum spotting.

Alchemist having a third, fourth run?
His work with Griselda, the solo EPs he’s always putting out?

That Pete Rock shit??? Might be my favorite beat on there.
HARD!

WSG always sounds so fly on the soul sample joints,
Amherst Station one of my favorite songs on here.

And The Steiners beat kind of reminds me of something off Fishscale,
not surprising since Pete Rock was on there a bunch too.
3007077, Tyler put his whole FOOT in that one nm

3006878, I love this more on each listen
Posted by stone_phalanges, Mon Jun-25-18 07:56 AM
The roc marciano joint in particular annoyed me at first(does he have beef with drums?). Now everything just feels right. The Jada verse wasn't all I thought it would be. The 9th joint also still makes me miss the old 9th. Alchemist killed it. I could have used 1 or 2 more Statik joints.
3006894, Sheesh. I am having fun with this record.

I'm still digging but this is some fun, fun shit

because https://www.datpiff.com/Westside-Gunn-Supreme-Blientele-mixtape.901375.html
or is datpiff that shady?
3006923, I'm always down for some grimy East Coast hip-hop. Enjoyed this
Posted by mrhood75, Tue Jun-26-18 02:02 PM
"Steiner Brothers" with Elzhi was probably my favorite, then Sabu and Ric Maretl.
3006969, joint gets better and better with each listen...
Posted by Dstl1, Wed Jun-27-18 01:55 PM
Sabu is absolutely nuts, but The Steiners might be my favorite track. Brossface Brippler and Rick Martel are sick, too. Wish the Machine was on a few more tracks, but no complaints.
3006973, Dawg I wish Conway was on Sabu
Posted by b2thej, Wed Jun-27-18 05:20 PM
Hell I wish anyone was on just so it would be longer lol
3006975, yeah, this goes too-

imo
3007203, I don't know anything about her, but...

I literally cannot forward to the next song fast enough when she starts speaking.

3007145, can't stop thinking that Conway would have bodied the "Elizabeth" beat

3007200, So far the Conway Blakk Album is very satisfying
Posted by T Reynolds, Mon Jul-09-18 07:34 AM

3007663, I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS HAVEN'T EVEN MENTIONED BENNY.
Posted by MISTA MONOTONE, Wed Jul-25-18 09:16 AM
THAT KID IS A MONSTER.

he bodies everything he touches.

don't even get me started on the pocket that Elzhi unveiled. Jesus.
3007665, Benny did put in that good work.
Posted by 13Rose, Wed Jul-25-18 09:19 AM
Made me go to the credits and say "Who is that?"
3007666, I wish this was his album instead of Gunn's
Posted by Numba_33, Wed Jul-25-18 09:20 AM
On the projects I've heard from Benny so far, the beats have been very subpar. Hopefully his future projects are better in that department. I think he has something coming out with beats from only the Alchemist and Daringer, but I could be wrong with that info.
3007677, he had the best verse on the album on GODS Don't Bleed
Posted by Dstl1, Wed Jul-25-18 11:41 AM
Just demolished that shit...
my favorite part of the verse:
all them nights I had to pray for this, they gone pay for this
no mistaking it, got a safe with no more space in it
we put it on tracks, these rappers copy and pastin it
take Belichick playbook and still won't be the Patriots
3007697, Benny stupid nice. I'm in. I like the shit I've heard. n/m
