3002491, I propose a 1 year BAN on complaining about the state of rap

Wow

Black Milk
Phonte
Elzhi & Khrysis
Royce 5'9 & DJ Premier
Common, Kareem Riggins, & Robert Glasper
Roc Marciano
Dessa
Kristoff Krane
Sage Francis & B Dolan

All just dropped within a single WEEK!!!

Elucid, Evidence, Skyzoo, came out in the first 2 months of 2018. Big KRIT, Cyhi, Open Mike Eagle, Rapsody, Milo, Dalek, CunninLynguists all came out in the later part of 2017...I'm just naming things that are on my radar, I feel I could spend all day if I tried to name every good album from the past year or two.

I'm completely overwhelmed by having too much good new rap to listen to. What more do you possibly want?! Whining about auto-tune trap or how rap has gone pop in 2018, you may as well just post "I'm too lazy to spend ANY time finding new rap music I like"

3002558, first two months of 2018 have been better than 2017 in it's entirety

but it's mostly thanks to underground releases...mainstream-wise hip hop has never been in such a sad state
3002561, complaining about hip hop...

...is almost as hip hop as it gets, me thinks

I mean, common released "I used to love her" the same year "ilmatic" came out

Being salty and resentful of other people's success has been a thing since the early 1990's.

The Lesson is all about not being satisfied about the situation of rap music, let us complain cause 80% of the artists albums you named I don't like in the first place, so let me complain on.

3002730, I haven't complained about rap music since .... maybe 2013?

whenever the keys got turned over to Kendrick, Tyler and 'em

and slowly but surely cats stopped trying to run with whatever's popular and just made albums again.

getting off the CD format might have been a good thing for many artists.
3002798, I agree...great start

Is that Dessa album more like the first one or the last? The last wasn’t bad but not at all what I wanted.

Apathy - The Widow’s Son is also dope as hell with Pete Rock, Primo, Nottz, and Buckwild all producing.

Scarface’s Lost Tapes needs a mention as well.

Doom Meets Czarface is dropping on the 30th also.

One hell of a quarter and we should discuss around the second week of April where it stands once we digest all the albums.

Amazing start.
