CONFESSIONS OF A CURLY MIND presents a 5hr journey into the dope sounds of Dwele. consisting mostly of non-album cuts, unreleased tunes, b-sides, remixes and production work. Dwe is a bit of an all-round musical genius, but with this mix i wanted to highlight the original distinguishable 'sound' that made me fall in love with his work almost 20yrs ago: warm chords, Jay Dee level drum sounds and programming, + creative-ass lyrics & vocal delivery, surrounded by a raw warmth that makes it sound all so easy (it's not, dude just makes it look that way).

i went with Ridin High cos i felt it was a lil less known than Open Your Eyes (which im pretty sure ended up on one of his solo albums as an official release). Ridin High was more of a random joint.

not that i think that sound of his ever disappeared, but it was unique enough among the hip hop and soul crowd to deserve a tribute like this.
