3000034, which is the better duo? Posted by PG, Wed Dec-31-69 07:00 PM
I'm sure I'm just not thinking of folks but has anybody been a part of more than one duo to rival the work of Method Man's work with ODB and Redman?
for obvious reasons the Redman material is a larger catalog... but I'd probably put both duos in my top 10 if not top 5 and I can't think of anybody but Meth who's had the perfect partner more than once... I dunno I suppose you could put Doom with Grimm and then Madlib.. I'd clap to that.
Poll question: which is the better duo?
Poll result (10 votes) | Tical & Redman | (9 votes) | Vote | Tical & ODB | (1 votes) | Vote |

3000090, hardly worth voting let alone discussion eh? Posted by PG, Tue Jan-09-18 02:50 PM
yeah yeah fair enough... it's pretty easy to give the nod to Redman on this regardless of how much love for ODB you got.
nobody can think of another cat like Meth who's had the prefect partner more than once either though eh?

3000104, Honest question Posted by Anonymous, Tue Jan-09-18 05:18 PM
How many tracks did Meth and ODB appear on together with just the two of them?
|
3000113, I'm not a big Wu follower but I'm not remembering any of their songs Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Tue Jan-09-18 08:53 PM
I think Meth and BIG made for great partners tho. (The What and The Riddler)

3000121, Big was on The Riddler? Posted by Anonymous, Tue Jan-09-18 11:54 PM
Why don’t I remember that or find it in any search?

3000171, It turns out that you're right Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Thu Jan-11-18 01:00 AM
For some reason I remembered BIG being in the video for The Riddler. Wishful thinking on my end.

3000123, I can only think of two. One was "Dirty Dancing" Posted by mrhood75, Wed Jan-10-18 12:29 AM
Which is the bonus cut on "Return to..." that no one ever talks about it (I personally like it).
The other is "16th Chamber," the bonus cut on "8 Diagrams," which was recorded pre 36 Chambers and, of course, wasn't realized until after Dirt was looooong dead.

3000124, Dirty Mef from 4:21 as well Posted by Anonymous, Wed Jan-10-18 01:07 AM
I just don’t get how we are trying to compare Meth and Dirt as a duo to anyone when they never recorded as such.
It’s like some weird ass fantasy poll that this cat made up for no apparent reason.

3000145, lol. fine. some parallel universe ish. I'm wrong for it. *kicks rocks* Posted by PG, Wed Jan-10-18 02:15 PM
y'all are right.. I have no idea why I thought there was an actual body of work to go off for this idea... I must've been subconsciously giving credit for full wu tracks that had both of them because while I'm a fan of the actual duo tracks they cut there isn't enough material to justify the concept behind this poast...
forgive me.

3000191, It is something that have happened more often than it did Posted by mrhood75, Thu Jan-11-18 12:29 PM
They were the first two "stars" of the Wu immediately before and then after the album dropped. I would have expected them to be the wilder version of Rae & Ghost. Or the even wilder version of Meth & Red.

3000272, Rawhide from RT36C and Dog Shit are the only tracks Posted by Adwhizz, Sun Jan-14-18 11:01 AM
I can think of off the top of the head with Meth and Ol' Dirty
I really like those songs, but it's a total mismatch

Basically. I LOVE Rawhide, but it didn't even sound like they knew each other... as if either one was pasted onto the song after the other had already done his parts. Most members of the crew did sound like that next to Dirty (with the exception of RZA on "Cuttin Headz" but they did trade-off on verses, and I can't remember Dirty doing that with anybody else off the top of my head). ODB really was The One Man Army, Ason.

3000303, Dog Shit was a Dirty solo joint Posted by Anonymous, Sun Jan-14-18 11:02 PM

3000335, If Rawhide counts then we can include Shame On A Nigga as well Posted by self_ish, Tue Jan-16-18 10:09 AM
Raekwon is the only other feature on both of those songs.

3000319, Redman head and shoulders above both, but Tical and ODB's a better mix Posted by Jon, Mon Jan-15-18 04:24 PM
I feel like Redman kinda carries Meth when they're together. Meth and ODB sound great as a pair.
|
3000320, I completely disagree that Red is head and shoulders above Meth Posted by Anonymous, Mon Jan-15-18 04:52 PM
Nor do I think he carries him when they’re together.
I think that’s borderline disrespectful to Meth honestly.
