2995045, Favorite non-rapper diss songs Posted by go mack, Sun Sep-03-17 09:54 AM
I always liked John Lennon's "How Do You Sleep?"
Prince's original "Old Friends for Sale" is good subliminals
We can probably include songs dissing tabloids and media too so MJ's "Leave Me Alone" or P's "Hello" also fit for me.
Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" might be one of the most famous comebacks blasting Neil Young.
What are some others?

>Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" might be one of the most >famous comebacks blasting Neil Young. >
Because you're on the wrong side of history by noting that shit.
Also, How Do You Sleep is cold.

I guess I'm not sure what I said that is wrong. Its famous, no? And they go at Neil Young specifically in the song... that they took Neil's songs wrong doesn't really matter anymore than Westside Connection dissing Common.
|
2995068, What's there to take wrong? Posted by Anonymous, Sun Sep-03-17 09:21 PM
Neil said there's some racist ass shit going on in Alabama and they took offense.
If that's one of your favorite "diss" songs then, as I said, you're on the wrong side of history.
I get that they made peace and Neil acknowledged that Southern Man was too broad but the facts still remain. Sweet Home Alabama was and still is a pro-confederate flag waving anthem.
Not to mention, both Southern Man and Alabama are far superior songs.

Okay gotcha. Yeah, its not one of my favorites so does go against the title. At that point in my post I guess I just started trying to think of rock disses and that one came to mind as it is probably the most popular of all time. I really don't have a problem with them or the song tho itself but not really music I dig.

2996031, I've heard that song has been about everybody, lol Posted by tully_blanchard, Thu Sep-28-17 11:13 AM
From Billy, to James..
*I walked into School Kids Records to buy something else, and they were beatin' the mess outta "Tricky". I couldnt believe it was Ice Cream Castles B-side...which is the only reason I bought it. Didnt like that song (Ice Cream) until maybe....6-7 years ago.
Bottoms up....and the devil laughs..
