REASON: A recent interview had her talking about how she values aging in an industry where getting old is often frowned upon, thus I realized this would be the perfect song, as Raitt sings about seeing everyone around her and herself get old and that it's best to value the time we exist in. I know I could've chosen a joke-y song but I think this fits nicely.

REASON: Mendes is the first guest on the brand new MTV UNPLUGGED, thus
"he's gonna turn it off" (i.e. an acoustic performance, not an "electric" one.) Plus, that season of THE ELECTRIC COMPANY remains my favorite, not only due to the theme but what Rita Moreno wore. Granted, I was what, 6? So she must've been around 45, 46? Excellent. Bonus points if she can be there before Mendes walks out and yell "HEY YOU GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYS" in an equally sexy outfit.
