2993061, One Gotta Go: 1996 Edition

Stakes Is High, Ironman, Hell On Earth and Muddy Waters. You can only keep 3. Which one is outta here?
2993062, RE: Honestly, I'm good with Stakes is High and Muddy Waters.

I'm take it or leave it with both Ironman and Hell on Earth.

2993067, This is a tough one...if I'm honest...Muddy Waters
Posted by Anonymous, Sat Jul-08-17 12:17 PM
Maybe Hell On Earth because all I really need is The Infamous.

But I think I may keep Dare over Muddy also.

I know those are in the question but fuck it...deciding factors lol
2993068, Hell on Earth can go. Easy n/m

2993077, Muddy Waters.....I skip a few songs and most skits
Posted by Ishwip, Sat Jul-08-17 04:56 PM
"Dare...." is my essential Redman outting.

I don't like the beat anymore because its just a loop. ALC didn't FLIP IT ENOUGH!

2993104, Damn, cats ain't like Hell On Earth?
Posted by Nick Has a Problem...Seriously, Sun Jul-09-17 10:49 AM
That's Havoc's masterpiece imo. Prodigy was on another level lyrically too.
2993105, I think Hell On Earth's strength is also its weakness
Posted by Anonymous, Sun Jul-09-17 11:02 AM
It's a consistently dark album to the point it has become an album I really don't go back to much because I'm just not in that mood ever.

2993117, Agreed. Kind of a chore to listen to honestly.

2993126, Prodigy's performance keeps me listening to it
Posted by Garhart Poppwell, Sun Jul-09-17 06:59 PM
(damn, that dude put on a clinic) but I have to really want to listen to it in order to play it because I'd rather play something else, or another Mobb album most of the time.
2993150, EXACTLY!

I love Hell On Earth. The other options are just more fun to listen to. Hell On Earth puts me in a creepy, grimy kinda mood as if I'm back ridin' through DC in my 929 and just doing dumb stuff. A really dark period of my life.

2993148, It's their best album
Posted by stattic, Mon Jul-10-17 07:49 AM
2993108, Muddy
Posted by High Society, Sun Jul-09-17 11:31 AM
2993111, Muddy Waters
Posted by Kosa12, Sun Jul-09-17 12:04 PM
I love it but this isn't close IMO
2993113, for me, It's Ironman
Posted by atruhead, Sun Jul-09-17 01:33 PM
I appreciate Muddy Waters and Stakes Is High too much, and I prefer Hell On Earth as a third option

now if you just went sophomore LPs between Dare Iz A Darkside, Supreme Clientele, Hell On Earth and De La Soul Is Dead, I'd be stuck forever
2993114, Hell on earth is the 3rd Mobb Deep album
Posted by c71, Sun Jul-09-17 01:37 PM
Juvenile Hell and the infamous are the 2 before it.
2993115, Well...in his scenario...Infamous definitely isn't going anywhere
Posted by Anonymous, Sun Jul-09-17 03:30 PM
It would be between De La and Ghost for me.

I was too young for that De La album and I never liked SC liked everyone else did.
2993116, Hell on Earth
Posted by Brew, Sun Jul-09-17 04:00 PM
I like Mobb Deep the least of all the artists soooo that's that.
2993121, gotta go with Muddy
Posted by cbk, Sun Jul-09-17 04:53 PM
The other three are flat out classics to me.

2993124, Hell On Earth
Posted by aesop socks, Sun Jul-09-17 06:30 PM
2993127, Ironman
Posted by Garhart Poppwell, Sun Jul-09-17 07:00 PM
mostly because there's plenty of Ghost to listen to between all of the Wu stuff. But this was a REALLY hard one to pick an album from.
2993137, De La
Posted by spitfire, Mon Jul-10-17 04:16 AM
i listened to this one the least... still loved it, but De La was too much in lamenting mode to me
2993147, Hell or Muddy... flip a coin

2993238, "Stakes Is High"
Posted by Dj Joey Joe, Tue Jul-11-17 01:44 PM
As much as I liked De La Soul, to me they went downhill with their 3rd & 4th albums, I don't think I've listened to those albums since the year they came out.

Both albums got a ton of dope singles but album wise I can't make myself listen to either album.

2993242, Ironman, solely by process of elimination.
Posted by Cold Truth, Tue Jul-11-17 02:54 PM
I LOVE Muddy Waters. Love it. I'm damn near Redman stan though and ride for pretty much anything Reggie does. I got all kinds of pleas for BO2.

I'm far too drawn to the darkness of Hell On Earth. Where others get fatigued by the dark tone of this, I'm right at home.

If I've got roll with three of these four albums, I'm going to need to offset the darkness of HOE and the, uh, mud and grime of MW and lighten things up a bit... so SIH gets the nod there.

Basically I think HOE, MW, and SIH is the most balanced combination here.
2993269, Hell on Earth and it aint even close
Posted by astralblak, Wed Jul-12-17 02:27 AM
I actually prefer Murda Muzik to it nowadays. Trust HoE is a good rap album but it aint touching those other three
2993296, I concur!
Posted by bnicedh, Wed Jul-12-17 11:24 AM
Its not close at all...Not touching those other 3 albums.
