WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT.

It's gonna take me 10 years to decipher all of that. And there's like a million songs left to go.

Thank god for Royce, man. This dude has almost singlehandedly kept me interested in traditional emceeing since PRhyme came out.

2992197, ROYCE IS UNSTOPPABLE
Posted by Garhart Poppwell, Sat Jun-24-17 07:30 PM
He's in that Mos Def space where when he's on his A-game, he's in pretty rare air. Hearing this guy rap with the vigor he raps with makes me want to put this mixtape on an actual fucking tape.
2992297, yes!

>RE: Royce been the best lyricist to me since Bar exam 2

Definitely. I've always been a fan but when I heard Bar Exam 2 he started to creep way closer to my top 5. Since then, he's been in my top 5 pretty steadily.

Folks say he lacks content, and there's some substance to that. But he raps A LOT. And he raps about guns/getting his dick sucked so creatively and has such insane flow that it still sounds fresh even if it's the thousandth time we've heard him talk about those things.

But people also overlook the content he brings on his solo albums. Death is Certain, Success is Certain, Layers ... he was bringing it big time content-wise, telling personal stories and giving us some introspection that we don't typically get from him in Slaughterhouse and some of his mixtape work.

Anyway dude has been on fire for close to a decade now. And he was really, really good before BE2 as well. He's one of only a few traditional MCs I still get LUDICROUSLY excited to hear new music from these days, as I get older.

>or Bad Meets Evil welcome to hell.

Man that album is frustrating, cause the beats are so bad and Eminem is so ... post-2010 Eminem that most of it is unlistenable to me. Waste of some really damn good Royce verses.
2992249, Beastin.

and I'm still digesting all the entendres, flow complexity, etc. Good God this deserves some uppage. This might be my favorite rap album/project of last year.
3001453, I'm still catching shit from PRhyme haha.

This dude's second career has been nothing short of remarkable. He got out of jail in 2008 or whatever it was, went to work, and hasn't slowed down since. In fact he's only gotten BETTER on the mic since. Not to mention his seemingly tireless work ethic.

People love to criticize him for being too one dimensional (the "gun talk" thing) but I think he has proven folks wrong more than once, most recently with Layers. Death is Certain and Success is Certain also come to mind, tho.

In any event he's just unconscious on the mic every time out. Like you said, double and triple entendres, flows, rhythm ... he's got it all.

Can't wait for PRhyme2. Hope the rest of the production eclipses Era.
