That was such a fantastic guitar, too. It was just the Squier version, but it was the J. Mascis signature model, so it had some real thought behind it.

And yet, the tone it was giving off was just too similar to that of my Telecaster. When I pick up a different guitar, I want to feel like there's something completely different to it. And I just wasn't getting that with my Jazzy.

So, I went for another Squier, just to try things out, and got the newest Vintage Modified Jaguar one. I kind of wanted the Olympic White one, but I figured I should change it up because that's what my Tele is, so I went completely into left field and got the Surf Green (which is more a of Minty green to me, but I digress).

It's actually a super dope little piece. Super bright, wonderfully jangly. And not much of a learning curve, as it's actually a shorter scale than my other guitars. I've been wanting to get more of a brighter tone for a while now, so I've started playing the Jag exclusively with a pick (I always used to fingerpick) and it's made a huge difference.

Now, if I could just get my pedal priorities straight.
