2981298, Session Musicians-...

How about periodically getting various studio musicians who worked on specific projects together and having them reminisce about the creative processes they recall: why certain choices were made, what things they experimented with before landing on a track that ended up being the final cut, etc, etc...i LOVE hearing that kinda behind the scenes stuff, and the good Session Musicians tend to play key roles in critical records, and can often be the difference between a decent record and a great record...

Maybe periodically pick a great record, (be it a great Album, or just a great Single) then get some of the musicians who contributed to it and have them reflect on how it went down...

sadly i'm now thinking about my wife's late uncle David Williams (a session guitarist on some pretty iconic albums...though you wouldn't know it if you just met him because remarkably, he was a very humble cat when it came to that.) My wife and i had been married for quite a while before i even realized that he was THAT David Williams. Once i found out though, i'd pick his brain for stories whenever i got the chance to talk with him...and man he had the BEST stories! i LOVED hearing whatever little creative detail about working in the studio on some of these iconic records.

Unfortunately he passed suddenly the same time MJ passed...still seriously bums me out, he was way too young and still vibrant and creative. he was such a FUN & FUNNY dude too. Man he could crack you up!

And me, i'm ALSO very SELFISHLY bummed because i know i had only scratched the surface of the many many stories he could have shared, stories i'll never get to hear.

RIP David Williams. You're STILL the man...
