prayers and respect. One of the baddest cats from back in the day. from the days with the BT Express to all the grooves he produced and did. he was the truth and his Book about the music industry is a must read.
prayers go out this family, friends and fans worldwide.
2974168, he left his imprint on R&B...

...by producing Whitney Houston's 1st single. that's an achievement in itself.

but he produced some stellar grooves and ballads for himself and other artists too. Howard Jones' "So Fine" is like a preview to his infatuation w/a bouncy bass that drives the groove. still one of my favorite songs 'til this day.
2974807, He is the progenitor of good 80's R & B.

As you know, I've been a major Kashif evangelist on this board... dude was a legend. Paradigm shifter in R&B music. He was almost on that Teddy Riley, the way he moved the style out of the '70s into the new decade.
2974364, yeah, you were the first person i thought about when i heard the news.

call me crazy but doesn't Drake's "Hold On, We're Going" sound like a modern bastardized version of something Kashif would do?
