So you're going to do all the numbered songs from The Roots albums this year.

This leads me to something that I SWEAR I remember, but can't find anywhere.....

Is there such a thing as "The Roots Contractual Obligation Album?" <-Yes, that's a Monty Python Reference

I remember hearing this:
The Roots wanted to leave Geffen for Def Jam had 3 remaining records on their contract.

Home Grown 1 and 2 were 2 of them AND y'all recorded an album in a single day and turned it into Geffen - and no one has ever heard that album.

I either remember it from a podcast interview with ?uestlove, or it was part of a fever dream I had and now its a false memory that I'm spreading.

Am I crazy? Mis-rememebering? Heard the story wrong? Totally right and awesome?
