Reportedly passed yesterday. Peace to him and his entire family.

For those who don't know, he was an extremely talented MC that made his name in the mid to late '90s NYC underground scene. Continued on throughout the '00s.

Trying to provide links to some of his music, but apparently a lot of his stuff isn't on Youtube. Still go and seek it out if ya get a chance. He was one of the highlights of that era.

..even though she used so many different alias (ex: What What, Run Run Shaw, Overtime, Um The Social Worker, Nasain Nahmeen, Tsidi Ibrahim, and probably a few others; Pumpkinhead's rhymes of her beats was a good match, even though Marco Polo gave him some heat as well.

It's sad to hear that Pumpkinhead passed away, it's a shock to know that rappers that wasn't that old are dying...but yeah R.I.P.

There's a story floating around that he went to the hospital to get treated for gall-stones, and passed unexpectedly after he was treated. But that could well be bullshit.

This really sucks though.

Very familiar with the name but not the music. Always heard about dude. Just never got around to his music. What songs should I check for?

The "Old Testament" CD is a good collection of all his 12" era music, plus some unreleased tracks and freestyles. The best song on it are generally from the 12"s: Dynamic (and remix), Wack Emcees, It's Over, and Daily Bread. But stuff like "2nd Ammendment" and "Mics of the Round Table" are also really dope.

From the Beautiful Mind EP, I really like "Supahstar" and "Brookyln Academy."

From "Orange Moon Over Brooklyn," I'd say "Jukebox" and "Anthem For the End of the World," just off the top.

Pumpkinhead was a good dude. I bumped into him a couple of times back in 2003 at Fat Caps and Shelltoes in New Brunswick, NJ. He was always cool with me and my lady. He was a true essence of a MC.

rap scene, which I consider to be the new underground hip-hop scene. Didn't know him personally, but know people who knew him, and have seen him out and about tons of times. This shit makes my stomach turn, dude was only 39.

Let my love slide in and never slip out
