I say this 'cus I've walked both sides of the fence and it broadened my perspective a bit. I came into the beatsmith game on an ASR-X-Pro, ...the red joints. I SWORE by dat shit, drums sounded warm on it, choppin' samples was relatively easy and the drum pads had a nice sense of dynamic sensitivity.
Den the muhfukkin' OS crashed so for the sake of necessity, I switched to software as a temp- setup: specifically, Adobe Audition 3.0 and an OLD legacy version of fruityloops.
After taking an objective appraisal of both approaches I've rendered
my preferences down to the following:
-I prefer hardware for drums/drum-programming
-I prefer software for sampling/sample-editing
Because of ^ ^ ^THIS, I fukin' CAN'T WAIT to get a Maschine! ! !
Thas' where I'm at right now.
