2910620, is the migos run finished?

checked out "rich pound-sign x4 timeline"...
nothing new or improved from "no label 2" or "young rich pound-sign x4".
in fact it was a major downgrade imo.
no stand-out cuts.

i think quavo has a future as a solo rapper if he strikes while the iron is hot... but yeah, i think migos have peaked and are trending downward.

it's interesting... rappers making SO much material to spread themselves so thinly and ultimately expose their own weaknesses.

it's difficult for any artist to make (and especially RELEASING) 50 complete songs a year without losing their "freshness"...

word to charles hamilton and azaelea banks.

Poll question: is the migos run finished?

not saying they aren't still hot, but both those songs are nearly a year old and they're new shit dropped about a month ago and no songs off it have really "hit"...

i don't know how much of a downgrade it was. there weren't any stand out cuts in the vein of "versace" or "fight night" but the tape was more consistent than any of their previous tapes. YRN and NLII contained some absolute trash tracks. RNT has a few cuts i don't like but i consider those to be better than the worst tracks on their other tapes

and they've improved. RNT shows that migos as a whole have become more technically adept at rapping, i.e. staying in the pocket and improving their diction, and they're using more varied rhythms. migos are doing some really incredible things from a purely technical standpoint on this tape (see: cross the country). i also think that they are better than they were at sticking to a theme in any given song

it is very interesting. it reminds me a bit of the UK underground electronic music scene that birthed jungle, 2-step, and dubstep, but on a much larger scale. it's progressing extremely quickly and it's difficult to get noticed or have a lasting career because there is so much content out there. the difference is that new artists don't have to spend time and money get dub plates pressed up and given to the top dj's in the hopes that the record will break. they just throw out free tapes on datpiff and see what sticks
