2910974, I got a theory y'all going to hate.

I have this theory that there aren't any big stars any more because the democratization of music means that every talented person can put out there own music as oppose to having their work funneled through labels and an industry in general that only allows a few stars to emerge and puts alot of other slightly less talented people to work as songwriters, producers, studio musicians supporting those superstars.

In other words I feel like back in the day the very talented Mayer Hawthorne would have been something like a song writer for someone like Michael Jackson. Or to put another way, Mayer Hawthorne reminds me what would have happened if Rod Temperton were a solo R&B artist.

I am not a music expert so welcomed to hear why my theory may be wrong.
