You can be silly fun and whimsical and still say something of importance/substance IMHO
Important to me just doesn't mean Gil Scott Heron or Curtis Mayfield important
For example,OPP was silly fun and important
And that song still stands 22 years later
These songs just don't stand because of the weak lyrical content
The lyrics just ain't there and part of the reason they aren't there is because he ain't about that life anymore.
