Solid, futuristic pop....one of the most innovative, "take chances" pop releases in a very long time.

2896038, I was done with her when I heard 90s music the first time.
Posted by CondoM, Sat Aug-09-14 05:05 PM
Then I heard it a few more times just in the background, and now I can't stop listening to it. One of the best tracks this year.

no doubt she can blow

but I can't sit through a whole album of those plastic ass drums she's using

sounds like my nephew on his fisher price kit

it would be so easy to add some low end to a song like that...

so I could at least turn up past 3 without my ears bleeding

ehh, better than her last album

but I can't feel that plastic drum kit she's still using

sounds too Teddy Riley New Jack City stuck in the 90s

to still be interesting

some good songs though

I just don't think I can cringe my way through more than a couple of spins

I'll pass.

2897103, The Bilal/Kimbra Duet is Dope

"Everlovin' Ya" is the Bilal/Kimbra duet and it's dope.
After streaming the album all week on NPR, I'm going to get the
deluxe version. This album seems to have a mixture of sounds
ranging from Prince NPG to Tweet to Bjork. At least give the album
a listen before you pre-judge, it's better than you'd expect.
I see why Kimbra and Janelle Monae were going to tour together.
Love her cameo in Janelle's "Electric Lady" music video.

It's obvious that Kimbra has been influenced by R & B music artists like Aaliyah, Timbaland, Prince, Bilal, and Nina Simone. I wouldn't know how to classify her music, cause it's too far left to be pop. But I'm loving her strange voice, musical choices, and lyrics.

Good album. It's a little overly poppy at times for my tastes, but I'm still liking it a lot. 90s Music is strangely catchy, though I really like the DJ Shadow remix of it too.
2897168, Interesting sound

I dug it
2897136, Has anyone heard the Diggs Duke remix of Kimbra's 'Settle Down'?

Sorry, minor post-jack, but Diggs Duke put up a free remix of the song for free download on his Bandcamp and it's f'n awesome!

Just listened to it. It's dope. It really puts the focus on Kimbra's voice while adding some hypnotic jazz elements. I definitely will download. Thanks for sharing.

This is my favorite cut from Kimbra's remix cd:

John Legend featuring Kimbra
"Made to Love"

I never really listened to John Legend's "Made to Love" until today. I just kept hearing the song on commercials. Kimbra is the female singer heard in the background doing all those jazz scats and ad libs throughtout the song and at the end.

Nobody But You is the new song that Kimbra and John Legend made together on her new album The Golden Echo. It's one of the best songs on the album. The cd is available tomorrow 8/19/2014
