2882550, The UN - U N or U out
Posted by sectachrome86, Thu Apr-24-14 11:04 AM
Being re-released on Fatbeats now: http://www.fatbeats.com/products/the-un-un-or-u-out-2xlp

I never heard this album until a week ago. I had heard of The UN from PeteStrumentals and knew Roc's connection but I didn't ever really dig deeper than that. As good as this album is, I'm really surprised I've never even heard of it until now especially considering the big name producers that contributed. The production is top notch and I love how hungry Roc sounds on this. It doesn't sound 10 years old at all. Am I the only one that slept?
2882558, forgettable, iirc

i tried getting into it multiple times but it just wasn't doing anything for me, save for the WONDERFUL beat that was "golden grail": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RL0KqN4IvkY#t=1102

perhaps it's aged well

I like it a lot, but it isn't really anything special to be honest.

this is a personal classic to me. Avenue? What They Want? Game Of Death?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!? Still sound fresh to this day!
2882715, That album was pretty fucking good and a needed departure

anybody that remembers what the music sounded like from 2oo4 should appreciate this album for that at least
2882741, Those 2 unreleased songs can be streamed here

I actually only play the original version with Roc Marci going hard but man that is a hell of a beat. The album overall I never got into like that. Game of Death tho...
2888392, Yeah Pete went hard with the Moonraker sample

Just a killer sample and done justice with some incredible chops. Oh, and Roc goes in as always.

Yo that Russian Hat Wear track is my shit. Though I prefer the full instrumental track when it was called Money on the World Domination mixtape. Zone out music...
2882934, Roc's Strength and Honor album released that year had some cuts too

but that other pete beat (can't remember then name)with the orchestral sample is also dope. plus it has my favorite roc verse on there "the stubbornest mule, l ron hubbard of rap, punish your bules"
2883008, Ain't No Thang and yes that beat/verse are official
Posted by Garhart Poppwell, Sun Apr-27-14 07:29 AM
Roc Balboa is more technically gifted than people give him credit for
2888497, yeah that's the one
Posted by rmcphedr, Wed Jun-11-14 05:40 AM

2888391, There are two songs that fit that criteria:

Give It To Yall:

Aint No Thang like Pop posted.

Both are amazing. Roc and Pete have a collection of amazing songs that could have formed a badass album. Here's some others:

Fall Back:

Long Time Coming:

Game of Death, like you said. Could have been a great team, man.
2888395, Yea a Roc and Pete album would be amazing

2888385, This album is a fucking beast!

Just copped the re-release. I've heard selected tracks here and there but never in full.

Man...what the fuck is the problem with this shit?

People really aren't feeling this?

I nabbed a copy of this back when it dropped and wondered why I hadn't heard more about it.

As brutal as Game of Death and some others are, my fav joint on this record is Mind Blowin'. There is absolutely nothing extra or superfluous on that track. Straight GUTTER. I play it on repeat. A lot.

I haven't heard a ton of Roc's newer joints, but he seems to have eased into that laid back pimp relaxation flow. On this record, he's sptittin' like he's trying to kill someone.
