hip hop albums

i remember when it came out and cats was sleeping i just shook my head

this album feels like the follow up to the classic ALL for ONE

dope beats…dope rhymes

jewels dropped

word…glad i got it on vinyl. beat street records.

2875510, I really do love this album

Only negatives were the Busta and Loon joints.

Everything is is that ish
2875957, I actually like both those songs
Posted by 13Rose, Mon Mar-17-14 04:27 PM
The Loon song more than Busta but neither suck.
2875514, Nah I don't like that album

Honestly I like Everything is Everything more than this. It has a few strong cuts but most of the production was working for me and this followed Sadat's solo which was way better so I don't know what went on with the production for this album.
2875526, I meant most of the production wasn't working for me

I hate the iPad.
2875542, respectfully disagree

everything is everything was their BS attempt at a "west coast" sound

puba came back and guided right back to hip hop glory

bangers=
the return
brand Nubian
probable cause
love vs hate
straight outta now rule

there's like 7 other average to above average tracks (all with dope lyrics)

and two-3 throwaways

at least IMHO
2875550, You need to add a few more to the bangers

The Beat Change
Don't Let It Go To Your Head
Maybe One Day (best on the album)

There's a few more too

3 throwaways...Busta joint, Loon joint and the commercial joint towards the end.
2875647, RE: respectfully disagree

The Return and Brand Nubian are the only tracks I would consider bangers and is Puba responsible for bringing them back to hip hop glory when he couldn't do it with his own solo career?
2875723, well...

reel to reel sold well
2000 is a classic

2875518, nah & you're biased

2875597, How many good tunes were there on the All City album?
Posted by Jakob Hellberg, Sat Mar-15-14 11:06 PM
I counted like 1-2; I was SO disappointed in that record based on the strength of "the Actual"; I think I sold it within a week of buying it... Maybe another one I need to revisit...
2875599, RE: How many good tunes were there on the All City album?

Priceless, Metrotheme, The Actual, Afta Hourz, Timez Iz Hard, Move On You Remix and Just Live were good IMO. Still disappointing since there were 17 joints on it.

...It was a huge disappointment...the singles dropped before it came out were that dope, but the project as a whole...nah....
2875629, Sure

2875765, i enjoy this record a lot BUT it's far from lacking flaws
Posted by Mash_Comp, Sun Mar-16-14 09:26 PM
In fact, there's some moments on the record that are flat out painful.
