I think that jarring and abrasive sound was kind of the point. As the jumpoff that tore the skin off of the neo-soul intro that preceded it, I think the whole intent was to show that things were going to be really different on this record.

This isn't really a track that I revisit often, but Thought absolutely kills it and I think it's effective for its purpose on the album. But yeah, not my favorite track.
