2866393, how obvious is it in retrospect that kane wrote LL's verse on "rampage"?

not to mention wrote "the break of dawn" and various other cuts on "mama said knock you out"...

but that one verse in particular is undeniably penned by kane and it wasn't even hiding it a la rakim - "summertime".

You can't just throw shit like that out there. Kane was in Barry White/Patti Labelle mode by the time rampage dropped.
2866407, I don't believe he wrote it

the one time LL won't use ghosts is on track with other emcees he respects and views as competition
2866418, I don't buy it

2866734, is that confirmed anywhere?

I've heard that Juice wrote it before but this is one of those things that always comes up without a source.
2866891, RE: is that confirmed anywhere?

Yes, it's been confirmed straight from Juice's mouth.
2866914, didn't get a writing credit on it? they give him a flat-fee?

Thanks for the link. I googled and this was the best I could find, a copy-pasted quote from Juice:

>>>
BallerStatus.com: Have you done ghost-writing for any artists?

Juice: When I first moved back to Chicago from L.A., I began working with Clubhouse Entertainment. I was part of a writing team that produced "Summertime" by Will Smith, "The Kissing Game" by High Five, "Pass the Toilet Paper" by OutHere Brothers. I would freestyle in the booth and if there were any hot lines to be used, they would use 'em. I didn't really understand publishing at the time and didn't really care because those cats kind of took me in. We got sued by Kool and the Gang for the sample and nobody made money. It let me know that I had what it took to be a writer though. I am still working with the producer of "Summertime" (K Fingers aka AZZA). Everyone in Chicago knows he's still my guy. We just wrote and produced an album for a new artist, and I'm re-writing "Summertime" for him (He's a shorty, so we think it could work again). We'll see.

Same forum, somebody posted about a tweet from Jazzy Jeff:
"@djjazzyjeff215 Fyi...Rakim did not write Summertime...I love Rakim to death but that was 100% Big Willy Styles..."

2867018, ok so he completely bit rakim's rhyme schemes, cadence, etc?

i mean it would be one thing if the song sounded like "juice"...

few years back i went to town trying to put bammer who was then kelving on blast for being bblock. i later realized it wasn't true. but compound that with bblock's post last year about shafiq ghosting for dilla, and well it's damn near a quadruple entendre in one subject line.

HOLLA!!
