more just a matter of at least understanding the circumstances that this music comes out of and that it's much bigger than the music or the subculture of Hip Hop. I'm actually surprised that there wasn't even more violence than there was especially in the crack filled 80's. Lately I've seen a lot of folks drawing comparisons between what's going on in Narococorrido and other forms of Mexican music with what has happened at different stages of Hip Hop regarding the violence and close ties to street life. I don't know as much about that music but what I've been reading has been fascinating and disturbing at the same time.
