i've been searching for a mixtape i used to have, think it was 4080 but could've been a KMEL Chuy Gomez mix. this reminds me of it a bit.

Their first one was Bay Area's Greatest Hits and vol. 2 was."Bay Luv.". They did third one was after I left. Those were interesting times.

There were other interesting comps around then: "Million Dollar Dream: High Powered" and "Southwest Riders".

but I can't get with you on it being the best "post Pac" release. You say that as if Pac ever even had a major role in DU. Saafir had more DU verses than Pac and he never even claimed to be IN DU.

Pooh Man (MC Pooh) - As Funky As I Wanna Be

Z-Man - Dope or Dogfood. Mostly produced by Premier's production partner, MoSS. Such a great album. Perfect mixture of traditional bboy/boom bap aesthetics with bay area slang and vocal inflections with a healthy dose of humor and fun.

His latest (California Brainwashed) kinda functions as an unofficial sequel (although the production is more on that west coast mob/slump sound, but mostly uptempo). This is very good as well, but Dope or Dogfood imo is his best.

His old tour EP (Anti-Nerd) is really good, too.

seen him a few times live. Dope or Dog Food is a personal fav. I doubt i know anyone else that knows that album exists.

and Im almost positive it was recorded in the bay, so technically it is a Bay area album.

and i've heard of cali agents, but never heard anything from the two of them, until now. this how the west was one album is nice. the beats are slightly repetitive, but not bad (esp loving the scratches) and lyrically it's dope. would definitely listen to this again.

Dope album from top to bottom. Anyone know what happened to the guy? After that album he just disappeared. I thought he fit right in with the rest of the Heiro cats.
