seems like every year we get a rapper thats supposed to "save the game!"
when the artist first drops we get heated over strong examples of brilliance, then the PR machine starts up, the public takes notice and before you know your favorite artist essentially becomes a shiny suit rapper.
I cant think of a single rapper that crossed over and still kept it...hip hop once they got big*
*in recent times, this excludes the roots and a few fringe examples.

****I'm not saying this happens 100% of the time, but its happened enough for me to not even get hyped off of new talent because in the back of my head I think "....will soon be doing a few bars on hot euro dance rnb track in a few months"
