at least it was.
the idea of the producer making the entire track and then handing it over to the artist
is a hip hop thing.

before that, it meant what you just described.

Quincy is the one that told MIke to redo the vox
on the lady in my life over and over again and to dig deeper
until he pulled out the best take.
