Posted by astralblak, Fri Oct-11-13 08:15 PM
But the grand white gatekeeper in all things rap seems like he must tell people that their opinion is invalid. And he does it ALL the time.

2847437, You know what the post was set up for?
Posted by Anonymous, Fri Oct-11-13 09:01 PM
For people to discuss what they felt was the best debut album of all-time is.

love his debut album and also he made his mark as a Bass player.love that album
2847338, Another great one.
Posted by Kid Ray, Fri Oct-11-13 02:24 AM
"Hi I'm Jaco the greatest bass player in the world" that's how dude would greet people he definitely changed the game.
2847381, Southernplayalistic... and Soul Food
Posted by Nick Has a Problem...Seriously, Fri Oct-11-13 09:41 AM
2847438, Soul Food is greatness
Posted by Anonymous, Fri Oct-11-13 09:06 PM
I don't know if there is an album I've listened to more than Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik and that put ATLiens in sub a difficult position. So when it dropped and exceeded my expectations, only to be followed by Aquemini, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik got dropped some notches.

I actually ran it through just yesterday and it just doesn't hold up as good as I would've liked. Still love the album and it will always be a classic to me but I can't put it in the running for this post.

Soul Food on the other hand has only gotten better with time.
2847385, College Dropout deserves a nod

a few songs from Prince-For You album:the title song, baby and Im Yours.
2847686, all-time is pretty hard to do across genre
Posted by Garhart Poppwell, Sun Oct-13-13 04:44 PM
but it's certainly not Illmatic if I had to think about it, in fact I wouldn't think of it at all when going across genres but in Hip Hop it would be in the first three or four
2847705, 12 play R.Kelly
Posted by mistermaxxx08, Sun Oct-13-13 07:10 PM
it changed the game of R&B and in hindsight without 12 play than no D'angelo and Maxwell.

R.Kelly made them turkeys step up their game. he also made Mary J Bliege step her game up for her "My Life" album IMO
2847707, I know your routine and all of that but
Posted by Garhart Poppwell, Sun Oct-13-13 07:31 PM
you seriously can't think of a better debut album than 12 Play (I'll allow the sans Public Announcement thing for the sake of argument)?
