2844131, Does Nas have any great radio freestyles?
Posted by Amritsar, Sat Sep-28-13 04:06 PM
BIG and Jay had some memorable freestyle sessions at radio stations in the 90s

But i cant think of any for nas.

Post up some that you think are dope - ideally from his prime years
2844134, There was the one on Stretch and Bobbito over...

Large Professor's "Gotta Get Over" remix. I don't think any of it was actual "freestyle" beyond telling Stretch, "Ya fuckin up, kid" after the record skips. I don't remember hearing the rhymes he kicked on that showing up anywhere else though. But it's been a while since I heard it.
2844136, he got some dope Mixtape Exclusive freestyles though ...

Idk i guess i always just thought of Nas as more a writer than someone who can comee off the head
2844491, There is a story of Nas freestyling in BIG's crib for hours
Posted by 13Rose, Mon Sep-30-13 02:24 PM
It got to a point where BIG said "I aint fucking with dude". The word was you could tell Nas was freestyling because he was incorporating stuff from the room they were in.

That said I've never found him to be a compelling freestyler, but an amazing writer... perhaps the best in hip hop.
2844639, most radio "freestyles" are written anyway

just enjoy the lyrics. who cares if they are "true" freestlyles.
