__ I don't like the beat anymore because its just a loop. ALC didn't FLIP IT ENOUGH!
Flip it enough? Flip these. Flip off. Go flip some f*cking burgers.(c)Kno

2839358, See This Is The Problem I Have Posted by Dj Joey Joe, Sun Sep-08-13 10:58 PM
Evidence is dope on the rhymes and beats but Alchemist hasn't been so good in the beat department lately but it's his rapping I don't care for and his voice is even worst; I just hope Alchemist sticks to doing the beats on this and a few hooks but no rap verses.
|
2839378, I'd be surprised if ALC wasn't rapping. Posted by quikfit, Mon Sep-09-13 06:54 AM
The impression I get it this is their "group" album, both rhyming. Anything else they've done as Step Brothers has both rapping. My guess is that it'll be heavier on ALC beats too.
|
2839389, hold up, you're not feeling Alchemist's production lately? Posted by Nick Has a Problem...Seriously, Mon Sep-09-13 08:32 AM
i have listened to niggas i never would have because he produced their shit (Action Bronson and Domo Genesis)

... was Covert Coupe to be honest. I felt dissapointed by the Action Bronson projects and hell even the Albert Einstein joint w/ P was a little lack luster.

2839396, As a BIG FAN of Alchemist's rapping, I'm hoping Ev plays the back Posted by Mash_Comp, Mon Sep-09-13 10:18 AM
I like Ev but only on ALC beats.
|
2839473, Wow ur like me as a Pete Rock rapping fan lol. Posted by SP1200, Mon Sep-09-13 05:21 PM
we're the only ones lol.
|
2840783, Oh Pete Rock can rap. Folks saying otherwise are blind Posted by Mash_Comp, Sat Sep-14-13 06:49 PM
No, he's not dropping like astronomical bars but in the context of sounding dope, being on beat and having occasional potency, Chocolate Boy Wonda works.
|
2840802, Alc is legit one of my favorite rappers. haha Posted by im_freshhh, Sat Sep-14-13 09:15 PM
i dig all of dudes features & the gangrene albums
|
2841024, same here. the critics of ALC's rapping baffle me Posted by Mash_Comp, Mon Sep-16-13 09:00 AM
He's really spitting crazy on that Gutter Water joint and although Oh No, smoked him on V&A, he still held his own.

2839402, fo of your topic had me thinkin Starlito and Don Trip were on this lmao Posted by Nodima, Mon Sep-09-13 10:38 AM

2839443, I'm almost certain their S.B. will be better than Ev & Al's... Posted by rhymesandammo, Mon Sep-09-13 02:12 PM
...I love Alchemist beats, I can tolerate him on the mic, but Evidence puts me to sleep. We'll see.

2839489, ALC raps on half of this... Posted by _Torchbaras, Mon Sep-09-13 06:37 PM
I need Ev to produce half of it!
Matter of fact, that new LMNO album might tip the balance and make me wanna hear more Ev prod. joints on there...
|
2840906, How is that LMNO album. I can't take him rapping.... Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sun Sep-15-13 04:59 PM
But I dig Ev

2840910, Dunno bout the raps... Posted by _Torchbaras, Sun Sep-15-13 05:40 PM
Only caught the 30 sec. each snippets! But beatwise, Ev came thru and crushed... With the Dilated joint, Rakaa solo joint, the Apathy joint and these, Im def. hopin for a prod. duties split on the Stepbrothers thing...
Some Delilah, Love & War vibes from Ev - Some Red Carpet, Chase The Clouds Away vibes from ALC. Mix those styles and youd have a serious album.

In an interview earlier this year or late last, Ev says he produced one beat on SB,. The rest, Alc.
Who knows tho..
|
2841157, OK aight! Posted by _Torchbaras, Mon Sep-16-13 05:02 PM
Im sure itll be dope anyways, ALCs still an amazing beatmaker even tho he did venture a bit far away from what made me dig his work in the 1st place...
|
2840879, bet it will be dope...but still not feeling alc on the mic. Posted by k0la, Sun Sep-15-13 12:53 PM
dude just sounds like he's trying too hard to posture whenever he raps. even when his bars are okay, his flow/approach just puts me off. his beats, however, have been impressive. i dig his diversity/experimentation with layered samples. his drums have really improved from those plodding patterns he used back day (those beats were still good though).
ev though, i think dude can really rap. some may disagree, but his flow/lyrics have improved greatly since the dilated peoples days. also, he's an ill fucking producer who knows how to craft a sound for a project.
definitely will look out for this project, but hoping i don't hear too many 'chemistry verses.

2850752, I feel like this is getting pushed back... Posted by quikfit, Fri Oct-25-13 12:39 PM
Less then a month away and no real promo, pre-order or any lead up. Usually Rhymesayers give a pretty big push, Fifth Element exclusive pre-order, etc., and there's none of that. I hope I'm wrong as I'm really looking forward to it but I feel like we'll have to wait a bit longer.

Unfortunate that is just label stuff as I believe the album is done. Now they don't have to compete with Run The Jewels for best duo record of 2013
