This post has nothing to do with "Control"

2833396, dope but the racial flip flop is wholly ineffective Posted by philpot, Fri Aug-16-13 01:04 PM
adds nothing to the song really

2833400, i don't disagree Posted by imcvspl, Fri Aug-16-13 01:06 PM
but i understand it as a means of expressing the logical absurdity.

2833455, I mean, it's based on a movie of the same. Posted by mrhood75, Fri Aug-16-13 02:52 PM
Which was also pretty ineffective. This track is pretty dope though.

Quelle Chris is one of the best artists doing it right now, 100%. This is powerful music©

2833444, glad ur paying attention to Quelle. Posted by astralblak, Fri Aug-16-13 02:17 PM
too bad you had to drag the KL fiasco into this
this a damn good song.
agree w/ Phil that the racial inversion of the Zimmerman-Trayvon tragedy won't give folks any insight or new perspective
but Quelle is the fucn man

2833452, it's a question of values Posted by imcvspl, Fri Aug-16-13 02:42 PM
I appreciate KL for what he's done which is hold true to those values as an MC and bring that back to the table. Unfortunately folk have been so starved for it, we get a week of gushing about what should be bread and butter.
This takes that bread and butter and applies it to a current event that should have us reflecting on our values as well. That's why despite KL having the better spit, Jonylah Forever is still the best hip-hop shit this year. Combined that quality lyricism towards addressing our social shit. That's where hip-hop is truly the strongest and yet everyone still wants to take it for granted.
We need more strong battle rappers so they can go more poingant on the shit that's happening around us.
Quelle did dat dere.

2833498, I'm a Kendrick fan and I suppot this post. Don't sleep on Cav Posted by Stadiq, Fri Aug-16-13 05:26 PM
either. Dude is dope.
On twitter he pointed out something about the rap community responding far more to Kendrick's verse than to the verdict and what a damn shame it was.
And when you think about its like...damn.
I think NIM got unfairly overlooked. It is a little uneven, but I really enjoyed the album.

2833499, this is why i like Quelle but am not really a fan Posted by philpot, Fri Aug-16-13 05:30 PM
> It is a little uneven > >
he makes pretty good songs & is very creative, there's just nothing holding it all together that really clicks for me

2833516, yeah sounds almost like a jam session or something Posted by Stadiq, Fri Aug-16-13 06:05 PM
Kind of raw, not a lot of quality control.
Sometimes I like that kind of sh!t, but I can understand why some might not dig it.
Doesn't feel like he has hit his potential yet though, hopefully he fulfills it.

2833500, I appreciate looking at it from that angle Posted by astralblak, Fri Aug-16-13 05:32 PM
