be it CD or vinyl (i personally only mess with CD format)

but are now impossible to find anywhere

for me its

Gal Costa - Gal Costa (1969)

one of my favorite albums of all time...yet its nowhere.....this shit needs a reissue
2821721, Blu & Exile - Below the Heavens.
Posted by Brew, Mon Jul-15-13 03:00 PM
$99 online the last time I checked.
2821725, damn. I had 3 copies at one point. and i gave them all away as gifts
Posted by Playa_Politician, Mon Jul-15-13 03:16 PM
kinda regret giving my ex one.
2821788, Holy shit I wish you were my friend.
Posted by Brew, Mon Jul-15-13 06:10 PM
Why did you give them all away?!
2822038, I didn't think it would be so hard to find them again.
Posted by Playa_Politician, Tue Jul-16-13 11:21 AM
I ordered one from the label's site, it never arrived so after i complained i ended up getting two in the package. then i already had one on back order from UGHH which finally made it. i remember sitting in my room with three unopened copies. my girl at the time really liked the album after i introduced her to it, so i gave her a copy. I gave my boy a copy because we're both into the same music. then my cousin's bday came up and i figured it'd be a good gift.

i haven't even thought to look for another copy, always figured i'd come across one. I gotta hit up my cousin and let her know used copies are going for a high price.
2821743, this is another one for me
Posted by Kosa12, Mon Jul-15-13 03:56 PM
also I recently finally found Funcrusher Plus for a decent price. That was awesome
2821789, I searched far and wide for the physical copy of this album...
Posted by Brew, Mon Jul-15-13 06:10 PM
when I first came to knew it in early 2008. Was freaking out when I couldn't find it anywhere. Needed it.
2821796, I'm pretty sure both this and Funcrusher got re-issued
Posted by mrhood75, Mon Jul-15-13 06:17 PM
2821806, I'm 100% sure funcrusher got reissued
Posted by Kosa12, Mon Jul-15-13 06:31 PM
yet its still hard as fuck to find. I mean I guess thats expected, it IS co-flow. I'm not sure if the version I ordered is the reissue or the OG though, either way I'm going to be happy

Blu I have no idea, but I feel like it got reissued too.
2822595, and now I own the funcrusher reissue
Posted by Kosa12, Wed Jul-17-13 04:15 PM
yay
2822062, Holding on to my one copy forever & ever
Posted by dalecooper, Tue Jul-16-13 11:50 AM
That's such a good album. It maybe got a little overhyped here, but I still really like it.
2821728, Berto Pisano e la Sua Orchestra - Volume II
Posted by hardware, Mon Jul-15-13 03:21 PM
2821729, the first few Nic Jones records
Posted by lonesome_d, Mon Jul-15-13 03:22 PM
Ballads & Songs and the s/t, especially, which have apparently been made on cd but I've never seen them. *shrug*
2821736, Spin-off: Artists that you really want to own physically
Posted by Buck, Mon Jul-15-13 03:39 PM
Tal Wilkenfeld and Esperanza Spalding for me. Female bassists...yep.
2821738, A few: The Politicians - Psycha-Soula-Funkadelic
Posted by mrhood75, Mon Jul-15-13 03:41 PM
T La Rock - On a Warpath
Lakim Shabazz - Pure Righteousness
Superlover Cee and Casanova Rud - Girls I Get 'Em Locked
Buster Williams - Pinnacle
Sweet Apple - self-titled
Elephant's Memory - Take it to the Streets

Some other hip-hop ones from the late '80s/early '90s that I'm forgetting. I'll probably add more later.

I see their first album -which is underrated psych-corn- used cheap all the time but practically never their other stuff; pretty strange... Granted, I live in sweden but still...
2821855, RE: Hood, I may have a fairly cheap hookup on this one:

Almost positive there's a pretty nice copy of this one on vinyl at my friend's shop. Want me to check?

>Buster Williams - Pinnacle
Shit, I bought this back when 32 Jazz reissued it and thought nothing of it. Just now looked at going prices. Not a super pricey item, but jeez.

This one has always bugged me, because I could have bought a copy of it almost 10 years ago. I was a Groove Merchant in SF, and the owner threw it on and told me to cop it. It was for like $50 at the time, which I probably could have afforded, but balked for whatever reason. Of course, haven't seen it since. I'm an idiot.

2822563, Have u heard it yet?
Posted by cbk, Wed Jul-17-13 03:11 PM
To me, it's the only post-Matthew LP that got any significant play from me.

Discogs has some for sale: http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?release_id=431842&ev=rb

2822594, Been listening to it via youtube now I know it exists!
Posted by kid_charlemagne, Wed Jul-17-13 04:12 PM
Sounds like the usual crazy Keith shit but with an unexpected R&B twist.

I won't be paying £200 for a copy, though!

Somebody gave me a usb turntable recently as a gift, which encourages me to start buying some of the vinyl-only releases I wanted but didn't bother with as I didn't have a convenient way to listen (it wasn't just a matter of owning a turntable; if not for files and mp3 players it would be even more difficult for me to work music listening into my daily life than it already is).

As far as specifics, a lot of what I want to get is either old jazz not otherwise available, a lot of electronic stuff (e.g. I'd like to have a lot of the older/classic Detroit 12"s and EPs on vinyl), and even just 12"s, singles, and remixes of artists I like, as well as b-sides that I'm curious about. For the fun of collecting but listening as well.

Break You Off featuring D'Angelo - The Roots
Thought At Work - The Roots (Original version with Hey Bulldog sample)

Both on CD. ( I have the "official" white label of Thought @ Work.)
2821836, Lots...

If anyone wants to get rid of any of the following for a decent price, let me know:

New York Contemporary Five-Consequences (NOT the live-albums but a studio-one)
Archie Shepp&John Tchicai-Rufus
New York Art Quartet-Mohawk
Marion Brown-Juba-Lee
Ric Colbeck-the Sun is coming up

All those were released on the fontana-label in the 60's and I can never find these fucking records in physical form outside of expensive ebay auctions that I never win. SOME of them were reissued in japan on cd in the 80's-90's but those are just as rare as the vinyls now.

Noah Howard-Space Dimension. For some reason, verve did not reissue this one with the other America-releases in the 90's which is strange since it IMO is stronger than its sister-album, Frank Wright's "uhuru nah uoja" which got a reissue... The shit on america is not that hard to find used in sweden for decent prices but I've never seen this one...

2822232, Joya-Here I Am
Posted by ramaj1, Tue Jul-16-13 07:31 PM
Obscure mid '90s R&B album. It had that mid-tempo, head bopping, hands-in-the-air mid '90s groove that I love so much.

Would anyone who has a copy be so nice to hook me up with a link???

Pretty please....I'll clean your house for a week....LMAO!
2822451, Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Posted by spenzalii, Wed Jul-17-13 11:44 AM
Seriously considering springing for the 50th Anniversary copy of vinyl.
2822720, The rest of OutKast's catalog that I don't have.
Posted by JFrost1117, Wed Jul-17-13 08:54 PM
Which, I really only have Aquemini, when I first got my record player earlier this year.
