beats still hot. I've gotten used to shitty singers using autotune now so it's not as uncomfortable a listen as it used to be, but Kanye on 808s is still probably the worst offender. "Paranoid" and "Robocop" still the only songs I ever want to hear again really. If I still agree with anything I wrote about it (when I wasn't actually doing reviews so it was just my thoughts unfiltered), it's this:

"The man doesn't seem to have figured out the autotune from the perspective of artist; where Lil' Wayne, T-Pain or someone like Cher approach the autotune plug-in with an attitude like "what if this weren't on?", Kanye seems to never take that into account and gives a phoned in performance. His reason for using the autotune is legitimate conceptually; it is his performance behind the mask that is suspect. It's like saying anyone could put fucked up Joker paint on and start acting like Heath Ledger. Some people aren't qualified to do certain things and Kanye is in that position here."


He figured that out by "Runaway".
