This was done in 2004 so take it for what it is. No Nas, I wonder why?

i gave years experience the preference.

i based my list on years out.
and how many years they stayed out
as in big daddy kane has been out for 17 years....but of those 17 he has only been super consistant for about 5.
some cats have made masterpieces....but maybe they had a bunch of doo doo years that diluted the value of it. and some cats like rakim and slick rick fared lower because of the years they let slide in between classics (slick rick 4 years in between "la di da di" and his first record, and so on)

so i did years out
then i did how consistant.

and here it is...i even shocked myself.
1. pos
2. redman
3. snoop
4. method man
5. black thought
6. krs one
7. ghostface killa
8. common
9. supernatural
10. LL
11. gza
12. jay z
13. qtip
14. dre3000
15. rakim
16. ice cube
17. lauryn hill
18. dmc
19. melly mel
20. slick rick
21. emeniem
22. chuck d
23. kool moe dee
24. big daddy kane
25. draze and scoob (i know i know....but think about it....they had power for ONE YEAR.....but that one year and those 10 songs inspired a whole cot damn movement......EVERYBODY CHANGED they steeze when das came out....and only 3 mofos on this list could make a mofo do that: number 3, 15, and 20.

Not having Nas anywhere in there is violation, tho.

even with that random/oddly applied criteria that seems off
2814689, LMAO @ Chuck D.

SMH
2814694, That list is as bad as one of those Complex lists

Not to me to mention that his explanation of how he ranked them doesn't even make sense.

He talked about some MCs being around for a long time but only having a short peak and then he lists GZA high as hell.

And I love GZA and Liquid Swords is in my top 5 but what else does he have other than features really? Even on Wu albums his contributions were sparse.

I'd be willing to bet that if he made a list today it would look very different.
2814697, its his list what can yall be mad at

I'm glad he ain't give a whole safe list but who he feel...y'all have the same mofos shove down your throat its a shock to see everyone don't feel the same way.

Lol at #9 tho.

What has Supernat consistently done besides NOT release masterpieces?

I disagree with half the names on it and also the order of the ones that I think should be up on it; oh well.

2814749, very strange reasoning...

The whole consistency thing and years between classics etc. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and so on but still, isn't it the records/win/peaks that count? Should I put Eric Clapton above Jimi because of the latter dying early while the former has delivered well-crafted, cliched and pleasant (well...) boredom for pretty much his entire career?

And the Das EFX-thing? Suddenly, it's about (short-term and soon to be forgotten) impact; might as well put 2pac on there then because dude surely had more impact and for a longer period of time... Whatever...
2814752, Agreed re: strange reasoning...

he talks about some MCs dropping a masterpiece then dropping "doo doo" then puts Snoop #3.

And I *LOVE* Snoop and give way more credit to his overall career than most would but still, with that specifically listed criteria I don't know how Snoop ranks that high. Snoop would be on my list too for a number of reasons but MUCH lower.
