'ye got him for Cudi's writing and royalties. i hope he doesn't get blackballed like he already has been
2792902, Kanye a better person than Jay...Kanye used Cudi like Young Chris
Posted by Menphyel7, Wed Apr-03-13 08:20 AM
but he got him a lil bigger and let him get a name B4 he didn't need him no more
2792933, You think Ye stole cudi's flow and style?
Posted by numark216, Wed Apr-03-13 09:41 AM
I dont know about all that. Cudi came with the singalong bars when ye was already getting on that with 808s and Cudi always seemed to be a step behind Ye in style and progression
2792934, 808's was cudi infulenced...you never heard a kid named Cudi
Posted by Menphyel7, Wed Apr-03-13 09:54 AM
HE def took some of Cudi's style. Cudi's was behind the scenes helping on 808's he is on there 2.

When Kanye got all electro and shit with the singing and rapping that was Cudi's style.

HE def used Cudi as a muse to further his carrer and to help wiht melodies.

i was about to say this
2793148, i agree w/ you on the muse thing, but 808s was a low point for ye

i think kanye did benefit from cudi.. but let's remember, kid cudi is terrible. as in "turn the music off because it's literally irritating my ears" terrible. not gonna say i've never dug anything he's done.. and i'll even give him a couple of points for *really* experimenting - def. respect that - but those experiments were mostly failures and on the whole the dude is very very bad.
2793164, I always said it was his worst album but might end up being his
Posted by Menphyel7, Wed Apr-03-13 07:12 PM
Most influential....and Cudi had alot to do with that sound and might not get the credit he deserves for it.
2793186, Man on the Moon II was dope to me

I know I'm in the minority but that was a good ass album IMO.

Ye... didn't do anything... after giving him the platform

Thanks Pat & Emile for that.. oh yea and the UNDENIABLE MONSTER that was Day & Nite

Young Chris didn't have a hit...

Day & Nite was a ton of things wrapped in one. Not only was it a hit but it was all of cudi's brand/image wrapped INTO a hit.

I'd say that Trinidad James has come the closest to that with All Gold.. but like man that shit was the perfect first song...

2793162, ye gave him the assoication and "make her say" was a lil hit
Posted by Menphyel7, Wed Apr-03-13 07:11 PM
it gave him more of a black audience.

2792956, why'd Chip change his name? fucking up my iTunes
